This CCIE Lab matches the Internetwork Expert CCIE Lab Requirements(with MPLS support)!
It includes 4 x 3550 LAN Switches and all the Routers being used in INE's Topology! For more information about INE's CCIE Lab Requirements, please check INE's website:
By including MPLS support, this Lab meets the requirements of the CCIE R&S Lab Exam 4.0
Here is a detailed description of its components:
Routers:
1 x 2610XM 128D/32F; 1 Fast Ethernet & 2 Serial Ports (R1) 1 x 2610XM 128D/32F; 1 Fast Ethernet & 2 Serial Ports (R2) 1 x 2611XM 128D/32F; 2 Fast Ethernet & 4 Serial Ports (R3) 1 x 1841 256D/64F; 2 Fast Ethernet & 2 Serial Ports (R4) with MPLS support 1 x 1841 256D/64F; 2 Fast Ethernet & 2 Serial Ports (R5) with MPLS support 1 x 1841 256D/64F; 2 Fast Ethernet & 1 Serial Port (R6) with MPLS support 1 x 2610 64D/16F; with 8 Serial Ports (NM-8A/S) IPv6 enabled (Frame Relay Switch/BB1)
2 x 2500 16D/16F; used as BackBone IPv6-enabled Routers (BB2 & BB3)
Switches:
4 x 3550 with 24 or 48 F/E Ports (depending on availability), 2 G/E Ports & EMI Image,
Latest Layer 3 EMI IP Services IOS; No POE.
A 2511 Terminal Server can also be added (Octal cables would also be required)
Please check out the CCIE Lab Upgrades menu for pricing and availability.
INE's Topology, also uses 2 x 3550 + 2 x 3560 Switches. But 3560 Switches are still quite expensive. Therefore, this CCIE kit uses 4 x 3550's which provide almost all of the functions needed for the Lab exercises.
The only technologies missing in a 3550 are mainly SRR (special QoS function) and PVLAN's (Private VLAN's). However, you may buy some Rack time in order to practice these particular technologies and thus save some money.
Switch upgrades from 3550 to 3560 are available though, either for your initial purchase or at a later time.
Please notice that this Lab can be customized to meet other specific needs. That is, if you already have some parts of this Lab, but are interested in getting just the missing pieces, we'll be glad to accommodate your request!
This CCIE Lab includes all the elements that you'll need to complete the Mock Labs given in the different Internetwork Expert Workbooks (Volume I, II, & III). Everything is included: Routers, Switches, Frame Relay Switch/Router, Ethernet Cables (Straight & Crossover), Serial Cables, Power Cables, Mounting Brackets, etc.). Here is a detailed list of the cables included in this Lab:
Cables & Miscellaneous:
11 x Serial Cables (11 cables are needed now, because BB1 & F/R are the same device!)
12 x CAT5 Straight Through Ethernet Cables
18 x CAT5 Crossover Ethernet Cables
13 x Power Cables
10 x Mounting Brackets Pairs
1 x Console Cable
IOS Versions:
The Routers and Switches in this Lab are shipped pre-loaded with latest IOS available for each platform (12.4.25 for XM Routers and 12.4.24.T4 for 1841's). In addition, INE's recommended Images are also included in case you want to use those.
Bonus Training Material:
While the Mock Labs from Internetwork Expert have to purchased directly from them (http://www.ine.com), here we provide a CD with the following CCIE level training materials (MPLS related titles also included!):

Upgrade Options:
As mentioned above. INE's CCIE Lab requires 2 x 3550's and 2 x 3560's. However, the 3560's are still very expensive. So in order to make this Lab affordable, we are replacing the 3560 Switches with 3550's. Although some functionality is lost (IPv6 and a few QoS functions), you can still complete most tasks with these Switches. These 3550's can be upgraded to 3560 at your request; please check our CCIE Lab Upgrade options menu.
Other upgrade options available are:
- 2610XM's can be upgraded to 2620XM
- 2611XM's can be upgraded to 2621XM
- A 2511 Terminal Server can also be added (Octal cables would also be required)
Please click on the CCIE Lab Upgrades menu to check prices and availability.
The new Lab Exam (version 4.0) includes the following main changes:
- The Catalyst 3550 is no longer part of the equipment list for the CCIE R&S
- A new MPLS section has been added to the the CCIE R&S Lab Exam
- A new Troubleshooting section has been added to the the CCIE R&S Lab Exam
But although the 3550 is no longer part of the CCIE R&S 4.0, it doesn't mean that it is useless! The QoS functions of the Catalyst 3550 is the only section that is no longer part of it!
That means that 3550 switches can still be used for the critical Routing & Switching sections of the Lab Exam. They still offer the BEST price/benefit ratio!
Please take into account that we need 3-4 business days to configured and test a CCIE Lab.
All components of this Lab must pass very rigorous tests before they are certified. Therefore, all parts guaranteed to work and have a 60 days replacement warranty!
