As all of our other kits, it also meets the equipment requirements for the Lab Exercises given in the Cisco Press CCNA Exploration Books. Therefore, you can use this kit for initial CCNA training, and then move on to CCNA-Security!

All three Routers in this kit come with 128 Mb. RAM & 48 Mb. Flash. They are loaded with IOS 12.4.15T (latest Adv. Enterprise version), SDM(*) & CME(*)
IOS 12.4T offers some special functions not available in Main line IOS (12.4) such as ZBF (Zone-Based Firewalls) and the ability to run CME/CCM commands.
Router R3 includes an NM-4A/S module and it is used for Frame Relay with Hub & Spoke Lab Exercises. This Router comes pre-configured to act as both, Frame Relay Switch and Frame Relay Hub Router! This is a very unique feature that you won't find anywhere else!
Since they include CME, they can also be used for CCNA-Voice traning, with the addition of a few other elements (please check out our CCNA Voice kits)
Bonus Software:
With this Lab you'll get several Software Applications needed to complete the Lab Exercises. As mentioned before, you'll get SDM & CME not only installed on the Routers, but also in CD!

This Lab comes with complete Setup Instructions, so you won't have to wonder what to do next. It includes a very unique feature: a Frame Relay Switch so that you can gain a TOTAL understanding of the Frame Relay technology!
Note: The CCNA Security Lab Manual book actually requires 3 x 1841 Routers and 2 x 2960 Switches. But 1841 Routers are expensive. Therefore, they have been replaced with 2600XM's loaded with IOS 12.4T and SDM, which offer the same functionality and can be used without any problems for the Lab exercises given in this book.
The same can be said about the 2950 Switches, which offer very similar functions as the 2960, but for a much lower price! A few Lab exercises require 3 Switches. But with the use of VLAN's should be to simulate the third switch and thus reduce the total cost!
However, if you prefer a third physical Switch, it can be also added to this Lab. You may also upgrade the 2950's (which come with Standard Image) to 2950C or 2950T (Enhanced Image).

VPN Encryption Accelerator AIM cards are highly recommended to establish VPN Sessions (Tunnels) between Routers. When you order this upgrade, the AIM card are pre-installed in your Router(s).

This Lab is not only good for CCNA and CCNA Security. It is also good enough for CCNP! And although our CCNP Labs do have additional equipment requirements, with this Lab you have about two thirds of the CCNP Lab requirements! Therefore, you can easily move on the CCNP by adding a few additional pieces.
