Therefore, with this Lab kit you'll have a clear path to follow!
Please scroll down to the bottom to see the complete list of Lab Exercises.
Please click on View Product Images to see the Topology used in these Lab Exercises.
In this Network Topology, R2 includes 4 Serial ports and it has a dual function, because it doubles as a Frame Relay Switch. This is needed for the Frame Relay Hub & Spoke Lab Exercises and for most Lab Exercises included in the CCNP Certification Kit Books.
Here is a detailed list of the main components:
- 2 x 3550 Switches with 24 FE Ports (DLS1 - DLS2)
- 2 x 2950 Switches with 24 FE Ports (ALS1 - ALS2). Can be upgraded to 2950C, 2950T, or 3550.
- 3 x 2650XM Routers (R1-R3) 128 Mb./32 Mb.with 4 Serial Ports (NM-4A/S)
- 1 x 2650XM Routers (R4) 128 Mb./32 Mb. 1 Serial Port (WIC-1T) + extra Ethernet Port (NM-1E)
All XM Routers in this kit come with 128 Mb. RAM & 32 Mb. Flash. They are loaded with the latest IOS 12.4.25d ( Adv. Enterprise version)
This kit includes all of the Network Cards, Cables (Serial, Ethernet, Power, etc.) and other accessories needed to do the Lab exercises in the Cisco Press books mentioned above.
- 4 x Serial Ports for Routers R1-R3 - 1 x Serial Port for Router R4 - 4 Serial Cables - 5 Straight Through Ethernet Cables
- 10 Crossover Ethernet Cables
- 8 Power Cables
Optional Components and Upgrades available:
- Flash Memory for XM Routers (48 Mb. Flash to support IOS 12.4T)
- Switch Upgrades: 2950's can be upgraded to 2950C, 2950T, or 3550. - Mounting Brackets (for Rack Mounting)
- Dedicated Frame Relay Switch (see Frame Relay section for details)
- 2509 Terminal Server with 8 Async ports (to access the different devices from a single location)
- Octal Cable (needed for Terminal Server)
All Routers in this CCNP Lab package come with 128 Mb. in RAM and 32 Mb. in Flash. That's enough to load the latest IOS 12.4, but it's not enough for IOS 12.4T and to load additional Applications such as CME (Call Express Manager).
But you can add Flash Memory Upgrades to 48 Mb. to support both: IOS 12.4T and CME.
Note: IOS 12.4T is commonly used in most Cisco Training Centers for both, CCNP and CCIE training. CME is needed for VoIP/IP Telephony related tasks.
A Terminal Server, like the Cisco 2509, will help you to access to the different devices from a single monitor station.
The 2509 comes with 8 Asycn ports, enough to access the number of devices in this kit. An Octal Cable would also be needed.
NOTE: Picture shows this CCNP kit with an optional 2509 Terminal Server. But the standard kit does not include this 2509, although it can be added through the Single Routers Menu.
With this Lab we provide three DVD's and one valuable CD's with tons of Training Materials.
The CD includes dozens of articles and eBooks (PDF format) for almost every exam topic! It also includes hundreds of exam-like Questions (with their proper Answers and Explanations)
The CD also includes some Cisco Software such as several IOS Images, Cisco TFTP Software and Cisco SDM! (Security Device Manager).
The DVD's included are sample DVD's from the CCNP Cert Kit Preparation Package (one DVD per exam). Please notice that these are only sample DVD's, so you would still need to get the original kits from Pearson/CiscoPress®
Frame Relay Lab Exercises:
As mentioned above, R2 includes 4 Serial ports and it has a dual function, because it doubles as a Frame Relay Switch. This is needed for most Lab Exercises included in the CCNP Certification Kit Books and for the Frame Relay Hub & Spoke Lab Exercises.
You can also add one more Router only for this Frame Relay function. However, R2 can do perform both functions without a problem, so this is not strictly necessary and totally optional (please check the CCNP Lab Upgrades section for details)
The Frame Relay Lab Exercises are one of the most unique features of this package because we provide a complete set of Lab Exercises, that without a doubt, will give you a TOTAL understanding of the Frame Relay technology! (it includes Frame-Relay Hub-and-Spoke)
Here is the complete list of the 21 Frame Relay configuration scenarios included in this package:
1. Frame-Relay Back-to-Back (no Frame Switch)
2. Frame-Relay Inverse-ARP
3. Frame-Relay Static Mapping
